The 4000 of the Valais
The Swiss Wallis, with more than half of the greatest alpine peaks, is the main alpine range. From Saas-Fee to Zermatt, we propose you to climb 5 of them. Some good dislevelations in prospect but also some unforgetable ski descents.
D 1: meeting at Saas Fee at 9 AM at the Tourist Office at the village entry, then by the cable cars up to Mittelallalin (3454m) and , from there, (2h) till Allalinhorn (4207m), then downhill to Langflue hut (2870m ).
D 2: skin up (5h) to Alphubel top (4206m) and descent to Täsch Hütte (2701m).
D 3: skin up (3h) à Allalinpass (3564m), then (1h30) to the Rimpfischhorn shoulder (4108m). Downhill to Britannia Hut (3030m).
D 4: 5h. Stralhorn (4109m) ascent and descent across the Adlerpass to Zermatt (1600m).
D 5: almost a rest day : lift up to Stockhorn (3394 m.)., then nice downhill before skin up (1h.) to Monterosa Hutte (2980 m.).
D 6: starting in the night and skin up (7 à 8h) to Punta Gnifetti (4554m) and Margherita Hütte. Great finish with a fantastic descent to Zermatt.
Dates: end of march to mid mai
Niveau: n° 3, a good shape is necessary, partcularly the last day for the Punta Gnifetti ascent...
