The 4000 of the Valais

The Swiss Valais, with more than half of 4000 peaks, is the backbone of the Alps; from Saas-Fee to Zermatt, i propose you to climb 5 of them. Some good elevation changes by the climbing perspective (1700m until Signalkuppe for the last day), but with the unforgetable descent.

Program

Day 1 : meeting in Saas Fee at 9h on the tourist office, then up by the "métro des neiges" until Mittelallalin (3454m) and from there skin up (2h) until Allalinhorn (4207m) and then descend to the Refuge Langflue (2870m).

Day 2 : climb up (5h) to Alphubel (4206m) and descent Täsch Hütte (2701m).

Day 3 : climb up (3h) to Allalinpass (3564m), then (1h30) to the shoulder of Rimpfischhorn (4108m) and descent to the refuge Britannia (3030m).

Day 4 : ascent (5h) the Stralhorn (4109m) and descend through the Adlerpass on Flue (2607m).

Day 5 : transition day, we reach the Cabane du Mont Rose by Stockhorn (3394m): 3 to 4 hours to climb.

Day 6 : start at night and ascent (7 to 8h) the Nordend (4609m) or Punta Gnifetti (4554m), finishing with a superb descent to Zermatt.

Dates : half-March to early May

Level : 2 to 3, good physical condition required, particularly on the last day for the ascent of Nordend.
